Where should we begin the tale of our precious little Mended Pearl? Why don’t we just start at the beginning…

Fashioned together by the kingdom's High Wizard with the finest pearl white ivory, the most virtuous of velvets, and the most luxurious of laces, Mended Pearl was lovingly crafted to be the closest of companions for the daughter of the King. The King felt that his daughter would be in need of a friend in the coming times, as war was beginning to be waged against his kingdom. 

 

The King and Queen would begin to separately pour long hours into going over war plans and meeting with generals. There was not even time for the family to gather for family dinner. The Princess was oblivious to the reasoning of course and just loved her new doll. They would go everywhere together. No matter what she had to do, she would make sure that she had her doll right beside her. They would explore the keep acting like little spies, play pranks on the guards, and have the classiest of tea parties in the courtyard. For nearly a year, it was The Princess and The Doll, never the two apart. It was quite a magical bond.

 

Those months would flash by, and all the effort put into keeping the Kingdom safe would be for naught. In the deep dark of the night, the calm was broken by a loud CRACK, and the sky lit up with orange and red as if the sun had met the horizon. Soon the clanging of steel could be heard, and the horrible screams one could never forget. The King fought off a small force that had gotten past the guards, and the Queen swiftly swept up the Princess fleeing down the hall. In the flurry, Pearl was dropped, shattering across the Princesses floor. 

 

Fire raged across the keep and the castle town, the Kingdom had been razed and lost.

A few nights later, after the cinders had extinguished, the High Wizard appeared to look for any remainders of spell components he left behind. Brushing some ashes aside, the High Wizard discovered the shattered doll. He gingerly gathered all the pieces together, making sure not to miss a single piece, then continuing his reagent search. When he was done, he brought the doll back to his hideaway, determined to bring this doll back together. Being a doll of royal descent, he saw it fitting to mend this doll back together with life infused gold.

 

Once restored, the High Wizard brought the Mended doll to a new remote kingdom neither of them knew anything about, and told the doll to make a difference. With this message, the Wizard disappeared, and the Doll was left alone. Not knowing how to make a difference, it took some time watching the denizens of this new world and realized she could make a difference through entertainment and become an idol.
